Four quadrants machined from solid aluminium replace the chuck jaws. Rubber buttons can be positioned to grip a bowl edge, inside or outside grip. The base of the bowl can then be faced off flat to remove chuck recess. Not for heavy cuts. The buttons can be positioned at different radii using M6 threaded holes which are placed at approx 8mm intervals. Maximum diameter of the set of quadrants is 262mm. Also useful for such projects as chopping boards, model wheels etc where a disc has to be reversed to machine the reverse face.
You can screw on little blocks of scrap wood to make your own special shape jaws if you need to. If you turn up the blocks in situ they will run perfectly true.
