These 85mm velour backed discs are slightly bigger than a 75mm sanding pad. This means you do not have to be so accurate in centering the disc so the outer velcro hooks on the pad are protected. Also it gives a "soft" edge, producing a better finish inside bowls etc. Resin reinforced aluminium oxide resin bonded abrasive (red).
