An ideal sanding system for many projects especially for natural edge bowls where you do not want your fingers anywhere near the rotating rough edge.
Contact with the revolving wood spins the disc and provides a gentler sanding action than power sanding with a drill.
You can if you want unscrew the arbor and attach it to the steel shaft provided then fit it in the drill chuck for power sanding.

This brilliant design by the late Len Piers gets round the problems with velcro grip arbors which plague other systems. Each new abrasive disc comes with a new layer of foam so there is no problem with the foam breaking up as eventually happens with conventional soft arbors. Also the foam insulates the heat from the sensitive little nylon hooks on the arbor so they keep their grip and the arbor lasts much longer. The abrasive is top quality heavy duty long life Vitex cloth back as opposed to the film or paper back abrasive used by other inferior systems. The discs are 5mm bigger than the arbor so the edge of the disc can flex that little bit more to give an improved finish.
